Portfolio

Having learned languages ranging from VB to Java to Prolog, and many in between, I took to web design and development in the fall of 2006, enrolling in a Web Design course at Siena College.  After graduating in 2008 with a B.S. in Computer Science, I took a job in July 2008 working for Netsmart Technologies, developing bug fixes and enhancements for their main product line, Avatar.  I am currently available for both contract (local only – Suffolk County, NY) and full-time positions (nationwide).  My complete resume can be viewed here (PDF download).

Below is a sample of some of my work:

Web Developers’ Playground (February 2010-Present)
Why not share my knowledge with the world? Web Developer’s Playground features tutorials, articles, and a playground/sandbox for up-and-coming web developers.

7-High Forums (Fall 2008-Present)
As poker is a hobby of mine, I figured why not create a place to talk about the game. Starting with a basic installation of Simple Machines Forums, I customized the look and layout of the site, converting the main page to a multi-column layout, as well as adding an ICM Calculator. The site logo was actually programmed using POV-Ray, you can download the source here (the file will not initially compile – you will need to download a copy of ‘CARDS.INC’ from POV-Ray’s website, as well as a copy of the bitmaps used to draw the faces of the cards). In addition to the technical aspects involved with developing the site, I am also responsible for making deals with well-known poker companies such as PokerStars to bring quality promotions (such as freerolls and money-added games) to site visitors.

Schodack-Castleton Community Partnership (SCCP) (Spring 2008)
Developed as part of an internship with SCCP, a drug abuse education and prevention program in Castleton, NY. In addition to hand coding the front and back end, I was responsible for researching the information currently on the site. Features a Word Press installation as well as an employee-only CMS.  Unfortunately, SCCP decided not to re-register their domain in early 2010, and the site is no longer available.  I am unable to find any web archiving site which has the site saved, if you find one please let me know.

ORION Technologies (Fall-Winter 2007)
My first website developed. The site was created as part of a requirement for my Software Engineering course at Siena College for my software team’s School of Science Network Device Display System (SOSNDDS). Not the most complicated coding, but showcases the beauty of small, simple webpages which communicate information effectively. Throughout the semester I also worked with my team members and clients to develop the Software Plan, Requirements Specification, and Preliminary Design (documents available on website).
